Random Shots

It's been a busy, busy week. Trevor was finally feeling better and returned to school on Thursday. Here are some shots from the camera.

Abbey brought her dog, Patches (aka Peaches) by earlier during the week
Trevor's pyromania goes "green".
Trevor goofing around at The Cove park Friday evening.
Saturday morning, Trevor learned to skateboard off of verts at the local skate park. He was having a hard time at first, but made friends with an older skater who worked with him for about 2 hours on basics, a few simple tricks, and making the drop down the ramp.
Self portrait Saturday morning. That peninsula in the background is where the bald eagle came from.
Trevor just totally hamming it up in the kitchen last night.

Another week has slipped by anonymously and remarkably. That's why I'm glad I keep these random shots just to remember the little things that I would forget about otherwise.

Weekend Update

Yes, we're still alive. It's just been a busy few weeks! I won't go into all of the boring details, let's just say I have enjoyed relaxing today. Here are some photos from the past few days.

Brett fishing Friday evening.

Brett and Trevor getting ready to fish. Trevor adores these times Brett spends with him. Notice how he wears his hat just like his big brother. I love the reflections in the water.Brett tossing him around in the kitchen.Trevor out on a limb over Lake Loudon last weekend. It was a sunny warm day but if you look in the woods across the lake, you can still see snow and ice left over from the previous weeks snowstorms and single digit temps. Just 3 days before it was -22f on top of nearby Mt Leconte! What do you mean it's still winter? Where's that groundhog, I'll show him a thing or two!

On the bright side, school is out for the next two days. On the bad side, Trevor has come down with a lovely case of pink eye.
But you have to admire the kid's concerns for others!

I couldn't resist this.....

Snow Day

The forecast last night for today was 70% chance of rain, turning to snow tonight with a maximum accumulation in "the valley" (here) of 1/2 inch.

At 9am, snow started falling. And kept falling. No worries, it was almost 60 degrees yesterday....it won't stick. By 10:30, Paul and I were salting and shoveling our our extremely steep driveway to get the employees out one car at a time. It caught everyone by surprise with 3-4" of snow.So what did Trevor think about schools closing at noon?Do you remember how you could tell how many kids were at your house from the shoes at the door? When we got to the house, there were 4 cell phones lined up on the kitchen counter. Brett, Abbey, Eric (Brett's friend), Justin & Wrin (brothers that are friends of Brett and Trevors), and some other kids all headed over to the horse farm for sledding and snowboarding. They came back about 2 hours later, soaking wet, cold, and worn out!

Here are some shots from later in the day when Trevor and I went back there later in the day after it quit snowing. The conditions were rapidly melting at this point but he still had fun.

Trevor on the snowboard that Rhonda gave him a few years ago.Trevor heads up the hill. Gee.....how did all of those silt fences get knocked down? Must have been wind:)A series of him going downhill. How was your day, Trevor? As of 5:30, Brett and Abbey are asleep on the couch. Trevor is asleep on the floor in his room.
